Church Update March 18th

Dear Beloved Church Family,

We find ourselves as a church and as a global community in unprecedented times; a wilderness, unlike anything I have seen in my life.  Yet, through our wilderness, we can know for certain that God abides.  As we journey, a day at a time, please know that I hold each and every one of you in my prayers.  I am praying for God’s peace, grace and love to permeate our spirits and allow the peace that passes all understanding to guide our anxious footsteps.

Given what we know about COVID-19 and the proactive measures that are already in place, I am suspending our in-person Sunday worship services until further notice.  I hear and share the heartfelt desire to be together for Easter Sunday.  Since that will not be possible in April, we will celebrate Easter Sunday on the first Sunday that we are back together in our sanctuary, whenever that is – and oh what a resurrection celebration that will be!  In the meantime, please remember the church is not closed because we are the church!  As Christ’s beloved church, we will continue to reflect the light and love of Jesus Christ to each other and our community.  We will be checking on each other via phone and email and taking care of any needs that come up. I am also live-streaming an abbreviated Sunday worship service at 10:00 a.m. via FaceBook.  This is the link for this past Sunday – first one, we cut off the beginning a bit but hope to do better next week!  It is also important for us to financially weather this wilderness.  As the church, we will be called upon to help others and we need to keep our doors open!  Please send in your tithes via mail or sign-up for our on-line tithing option right here on our web site.

Friends, our reality is changing rapidly and I am doing my best to keep us connected and safe.  Please be careful.  Please reach out if you need anything.  Please heed the warnings and advice of medical experts. Please know I am holding all of you in my heart and in my prayers.  And remember:

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)

Love and blessings,

Pastor Jenny
